Stay calm and act quickly. This guide will walk you through the immediate steps to secure your bank accounts, protect your identity, and report the crime safely.

⏱️ First 10 Minutes – Do This Immediately

Do NOT panic. Take a deep breath.
Disconnect your internet if malware is suspected.
Do not send more money to the scammer.
Take screenshots of chats, websites, payment proofs.

💸 If You Lost Money (India Focus)

Call your bank immediately and report fraud.
If UPI / Card / Netbanking used, request transaction reversal.
Block your card / UPI ID immediately.

🔐 If Your Account or Phone Was Hacked

Change passwords of email, bank, social media.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
Log out from all devices.
Scan your phone or PC with trusted antivirus.

📱 Social Media & WhatsApp Scams

Warn your contacts not to trust messages from your account.
Report the account to the platform (Instagram / Facebook / WhatsApp).
Check login activity and remove unknown devices.

🌍 If You Are Outside India

Contact your bank or payment provider immediately.
Report to your country’s cyber crime authority.
Preserve all evidence (emails, URLs, transaction IDs).
